Privacy & Cookies Policy
We have taken the following measures to maintain the privacy of visitors to this site:
HTTPS Always
This site uses HTTPS everywhere. If you try and access this site using HTTP, you will be redirected to HTTPS. HTTPS is important, as it ensures your connection to my server is always encrypted (among other things). So any spying eyes won’t be able to see what you’re doing whilst on my site.
Forms
The website uses forms that allow visitors to submit a panel proposal, subscribe to updates or contact us. Each time someone submits a form, the submitter’s IP address, timestamp, name, email, and message details are stored in the database of the site and are emailed directly to organisers. We use these data only for purposes related to each form.
Analytics
The website uses the WordPress.com stats through the Jetpack plugin. WordPress.com tracks the following activity: Post and page views, outbound link clicks, referring URLs and search engine terms, and country. The following data are collected used: IP address, WordPress.com user ID (if logged in), WordPress.com username (if logged in), user agent, visiting URL, referring URL, timestamp of event, browser language, country code. Important: we do not have access to any of this information via this feature. For example, we can see that a specific page has 285 views, but I cannot see which specific users/accounts viewed that post. Stats logs — containing visitor IP addresses and WordPress.com usernames (if available) — are retained by Automattic for 28 days and are used for the sole purpose of powering this feature.
Website Hosting Provider Logs
The company that hosts this website (Tophost) does store visitor IP addresses within the server’s access logs. They keep access logs for 30 days, after which time logs are deleted. They use IP addresses to track attacks on websites they host and allow them to take steps to prevent those attacks. More information can be found on their privacy policy.
